Mallorca is comprised of 369 condominiums that are located at the cleanest manmade lake in the western region of the nation. Besides enjoying the beach and beautiful water, residents has access to picnic areas, swimming pools, spas, and promenade trails. The lake community regularly holds streets fairs, summer concerts, movie screenings, and holiday activities.
Lake Mission Viejo is a popular area for windsurfers, anglers, and boaters. The lake is known for its catfish, bass, sunfish, and trout. Prizes are awarded to fishermen who catch tagged trout and the largest one caught as of 2006 was a little over 19 pounds. Other amenities of this community include 24-hour security, private docks with 72 slips, fishing piers, and boat storage off the water.
Saddleback Valley Unified School District provides public education for this neighborhood. Students attend Del Lago Elementary as well as highly ranked Los Alisos Intermediate School and Trabuco Hills High School. Families may choose private schooling from a long list of facilities including Sonrisa School, Halstrom High, Cornerstone Community School, and The Master’s Academy. This is also the home of Saddleback College.
There are two main shopping centers including The Shops at Mission Viejo which offer 150 high end merchants. The city also has three golf courses; the Casta del Sol Golf Course, Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course, and The Mission Viejo Country Club.
Mission Viejo is one of the largest planned communities in the United States and is known for its tree-lined streets. This city also holds many triathlons and 5K runs throughout the year as well as holiday events.
